THAT was interesting.....

Well, I must say that yesterday evening was quite interesting. Tornadoes everywhere as well as idiots. Why is it that when there's bad weather, a fire, an accident, or some other catastrophe.......All the idiots come out of the woordwork and have to get in the dern way? Was driving to my Mom and Dad's house (they have a basement, we don't) which is 4 1/2 blocks away from my house.....Shouldn't take that long right? Nope, 5 flippin minutes. There is usually NO traffic down my street, but we had to wait for numerous vehicles to get out of the way before we could even leave the driveway!
Any of you people not from around here won't know where I'm talking about in this next part.......Brice had at least 2 large tornadoes on the ground in the space of about 20 minutes, there were several funnels spotted in the vicinity of Lelia Lake, there was a tornadoe cross Hiway 287 approximately 3 1/2 to 4 miles west of Clarendon (1/4 mile east of Martin Gin), several tornadoes spotted on the ground near The Castle (approximately 3 miles west/southwest of Clarendon) with damage reported, there were also numerous funnel clouds spotted south and southwest of Howardwick, and one semi truck was overturned by high winds.

At this time, there have been no injuries reported......Even the truck driver was alright. Oh yeah, several funnels reported in the Ashtola area as well as a grass fire at Ashtola. All this took place in the space of about 1 1/2 hours.
What was my son doing at this time? Wigging out. My Mom? Doing better then Ty, but still nervous. My Dad? Standing in the street looking up at the clounds like one was going to drop straight out of the sky so he could look at it. Me and Clyde? Sitting on the porch trying to stay dry watching everyone else walk around. I swear, the front door of my Mom's house hasn't been opened as many times in a year as it was in that hour and a half.

All Clyde (aka "Cornbread") really wanted to do was go and pee on the trees. Now, after all the excitement, Cornbread is a bit worn out.......

The Little Wrinkle......

My niece (BabyGator) was driving home the other day and found this poor little thing in the road miles from anywhere. Someone HAD to have taken it out there and dumped it on the side of the road! The vet says that she's only about 7 weeks old. She wouldn't have lasted long out on the side of the road.......That REALLY ticks me off!!! All the would have had to have done was ask around! Someone would have given her a good home without going through the trauma of being left alone on the side of the road!!!! Or take the poor thing to the Humane Society, SPCA, Amarillo Animal Rescue Shelter.........I can only hope that they break down on the side of the road somewhere in the middle of nowhere and people don't stop to help. I know that sounds mean, but that's what they deserve!!!! Now that I've posted this, maybe BabyGator will post the whole story on her blog. :)

My Dad, Volunteer Fireman of the Year!!!!! And My Sis!!!

Sunday night, my Dad was given a plaque and the award for Volunteer Fireman of the Year!!!! I knew he was going to be getting this award, and it was SSSSOOOOOO hard not to tell him. My Dad works hard at just doing the things that need doing at the Fire Department. He'll go down and check all the tires to make sure they are up, if not, he'll go and get them fixed. He also fills the ice chests with ice and bottled water in case there is a call so that everyone will have water when it's needed. Clyde was so happy, he actually raised his head. :)

Mindy, thank you SO much for the use of your CRV the other night to take Clyde to the Doctor. He is feeling much better now and is eating like he's a bottomless pit.

Deputy Wrinkle approved video

Deputy Wrinkle is currently on sick leave, but while he recovers from Kennel Cough, he has found a video for everyone to watch. This video shows one of Deputy Wrinkle's many cousins on the job. I, personally, don't understand what makes people think they can get away......

Subduing a handtowel.....

While taking my shower this morning, I began to hear a loud thumping noise from outside the bathroom door. I turned off the water after finishing my shower and noticed that the thumping noise had ceased and after toweling off, went into my bedroom to get dressed. There sat Deputy Clyde Wrinkle.......with a SHREDDED hand towel!!! He had this look on his face that said...."I killed it!!!! I did REALLY good!!!" He didn't chew my socks, underwear, or anything else...Just the hand towel. I'm thinking Clyde might have some issues here........

The Big Wrinkle!

Welcome to The Big Wrinkle!!!! Named the place after my dawg, Deputy Clyde Wrinkle. He's 96lbs of pure Bloodhound that I found at the dog pound on the 1st of March. As you can tell by the pic, Deputy Wrinkles is on the job!!!! Saturday, the day after bringing him home, he was raising all kinds of you know what in the backyard. I looked out and he was standing there looking at the back corner of the yard. I thought maybe he was barking at the neighbors, so I stepped out of the back door to see what was up. Deputy Wrinkles saw me come out and took off to the back corner.......After a cat!!!!! Oh no, HE's not SCARED of cats......Was just waiting for backup!!!!
